Now is the time to make some major updates to this portal

@Stormbringer and Shockwave we need to have a chat about it

I know you think you understand what you
thought I said but I'm not sure you realize
that what you heard is not what I meant.

Axxess dupes:
One has the words "ports of call" replaced with "graphics studio" and the other is a completely different intro?

Is it worth making another version of an intro with a couple of words changed?

About Kestra.. it's probably as much work as remaking all Amiga cracktros and demos. I think Buzz said he doesn't have enough time... The position is still open.

Regarding the Axxess dupes, I just sent them to you. But I'm quite sure there must be more!

@SB: I did discuss a while ago with the bitfella guys about taking up the DB development, but because I specialise in a "non-standard" DB and UI system we agreed it wasn't the way forward for future support etc. Hope they get someone soon.. I reckon Buzz at exotica would be a good candidate, but I don't think he'd have the time?

I didn't know of any dupes of that intro.
I remember talking to ultra (the original coder) a few years ago and he didn't mention any. I didn't see any other crack by axxess back in the day

On a totally different subject:

The guys at Kestra/Bitfellas.org are looking for someone that can write the next generation DB engine for their huge collection.

If anyone would like to help them, please contact Zeg on #amigaexotic IRC channel or Richard Wagenführer (Zeg) at the email address that can be found here:

for MH, well, I need to time everything properly, watch in parallel both prods, need to rip the textures for the stencil vectors and also the vector font for the circular vector scroll.. All the rest is made of routines I already had made beforehand for other demos (e.g. Scoopex cracktro for Colorado) ...

the problem with me is that I start several in parallel. I usually start by ripping gfx and music from several of them. The build the basics or those that share the same structure (e.g. scroller and starfield). Then finish the differences one after another.

If we want to finish this huge task (in a couple of decades ) we definitely need a list management.

Also I take advantage of this post to ask users around here to help us to track down the variations/dupes. Donald Duck sent us some unseen ones already, so for the other users here, please send what you have

@Nzo: what about the dupes for the first Axxess intro you released?

Just 2 parts left for MH? That's awesome.. any chance of a sneak preview

LOL at the northstar.. I was looking at NS stuff last night.. that's good oldschool stuff!

I was really keen on any M&K stuff as their work was quite advanced and I knew I had some scattered around in my archives (outside of the NS+FLT megademos)

Really looking forward to MH... what's holding it up?

well, if we look at the rate of releases these days, I'm pretty sure it's possible. We have a great team here and we can share the work.

Regaring the ones that I'm working on, or need to finish:

http://bitworld.bitfellas.org/demo.php?id=995 (still need to rip some resources and finish 2 parts)
http://bitworld.bitfellas.org/demo.php?id=7408
http://bitworld.bitfellas.org/demo.php?id=6976
http://bitworld.bitfellas.org/demo.php?id=6786
http://bitworld.bitfellas.org/demo.php?id=1687

maybe we need a list management??? shall we start that?

"have them all" lol - I love that
You really are on a mission my freind!

Just so we don't cross paths on future remakes again, what are you working on / have in the pipeline?

I was planning to look at Mental Hangover after CopperMaster, but I understand you have done some work there?
I've also done some work on "total triple trouble" and I would probably do most / all of the DHTML ones on my site at some point.

@Hell's Angel: the tune is in your mailbox! Sonic Arranger format!

@Nzo: hehe... yeah I know... but we really appreciate your work here and it's finally getting possible to expand the collection here to something more complete. We need to be more to release the remakes and have them all.

True, but a master-child relationship in the database would be the most obvious. Not knowing how the back-end is setup means I can't offer any practical suggestions, but the rate of new additions is looking quite good right now and I'm pretty hooked on this remake fun

Damn you Stormbringer

well, for the dupes/variations the best solution is families. I asked Tetra about this but he was busy during XMas time. It has to be added as a feature and cannot be just hacked with the current status of the portal here...

The idea is that if we release the "main" intro and then the dupes, we can create a family and tag the intros that are part of the same family. The intros that are part of the same family could appear listed on the pages of the intros. Well kind of hard to explain, but a good example is the ways it is managed on bitfellas.org.

This has to be done manually because we do not know in advance if an intro has dupes/variations or not. We are basically discovering new dupes everyday..

One more while I`m at it

Prods should not appear in the "prods you have not downloaded" list, if you are the author?

Further to my previous post, you can see the comments / conversations against variants would be better under one "version" as well.
